The University of Melbourne is delighted to announce that the PhD Course in Neuroscience 2013 will start on March 11^th.

Newly enrolled PhD graduate researchers, from any discipline background or department, with a project related to the neurosciences are able to take either the full 5-week course (core introductory week plus 4 week-block subjects) or only a few subjects (including the core introductory week).  Graduate researchers who started late last year are also welcome to enroll. Now in its 4^th year, the course is of enormous benefit to students and has been very successful.

The course runs over 5 full-time weeks between 11 March and 24 May.  Each subject is available in two versions. The 12.5 pt ‘A’ subjects include major written assignments, developing the thesis’ research proposal and/or own thesis’ literature review (due by the end of August).  The 6.25 pt ‘B’ subjects on the other hand include assessment that will help develop a broader understanding of the multi-disciplinary field of modern neuroscience. Note the introductory program ‘Getting started in the Neuroscience PhD’ is compulsory for all students taking any subject in the course.

The course is fully catered to provide additional opportunities to network and exchange ideas among the different discipline backgrounds during breaks and lunch.
