The VBIC network enables participants to work with the Victorian State Government as the leading industry group for biomedical imaging research and development in Victoria. The Capability operates in a collaborative structure to establish the processes and forums necessary to optimise the use of imaging resources in Victoria.

All Victorian universities and research organisations that have interest in biomedical imaging infrastructure, sciences, or applications are invited to be members of the Network.

The VBIC operates under a Collaboration Agreement across five geographically distinct nodes and organisations:

  • Austin (primarily run by the Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health)
  • Clayton (primarily run by Monash Biomedical Imaging)
  • Parkville/Werribee (primarily run by the University of Melbourne)
  • Hawthorn (primarily run by Swinburne University of Technology)
  • Olivia Newton John Cancer Research Institute and La Trobe University
